Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) manufactures niche peristaltic pumps and associated fluid path technologies for the life sciences and process industries, with its global headquarters in Falmouth.
WMFTS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, was founded in 1956 by inventor Bernard Refson and has operations in 42 countries. Since 1969, Watson-Marlow has been based in Falmouth where it has sites for manufacturing, supply and central services.
In 2022, operations in Cornwall expanded with the opening of the 5,000m2 global Cardrew Innovation Centre in Redruth. This specialist facility for more than 60 colleagues is dedicated to new product innovation processes with test laboratories and development spaces for user experience.
As a leading provider of peristaltic and sinusoidal pumps, automated filling machines, tubing, hoses and other fluid path components, we partner with customers to provide end-to-end solutions across a range of applications.
Our pumps touch people’s lives all over the world. Some of the applications which use our solutions include: dosing chemicals to ensure we have clean tap water; adding ingredients to make foods like chocolate; transferring viscous fruit mixtures in the production of juice; filling vials during the Covid vaccine production; keeping organs alive during transportation to a donor; transferring slurry at building sites; adding fragrances and dyes to scented candles and refining critical minerals like lithium after it is mined.
