Truro and Penwith College is one of the leading tertiary colleges in the South West, working in close partnership with employers across Cornwall from campuses in Truro, Penwith and Bodmin. Manufacturing and engineering are central to the College’s offer, with specialist provision delivered through industry-standard facilities including the STEM and Health Skills Centre in Bodmin and the South West Institute of Technology at Truro College. These facilities support the development of advanced technical skills in areas such as engineering, digital technologies and emerging industries.
The College works collaboratively with employers to design and deliver programmes that meet current and future skills needs, from entry-level pathways through to higher technical qualifications and professional development. Apprenticeships are a key strength, with the College recently ranked the top-performing general further education college in the South West for apprenticeship achievement, achieving a 72% success rate, significantly above national benchmarks. This performance is reinforced by recognition as an Expert Apprenticeship Provider and as a finalist in four national Apprenticeship Guide Awards, including Best College for Apprenticeships.
