The Natural Fibre Company is a spinning mill and fibre testing facility in Launceston, Cornwall. We are experts in small batch, end-to-end fibre processing, adding value to fleece and working with Wool, Alpaca and Mohair and other types of natural fibres and materials. Our services include Scouring, Carding, Woollen and Worsted Spinning, and Finishing, all taking place under one roof and ensuring that we limit our carbon footprint. We are passionate about working with raw fleece, transforming it into beautiful, high-quality yarn for our customers in the UK and worldwide.
We produce our own branded products as Blacker Yarns, providing traceability and provenance, working with British farmers and businesses, and showcasing the best of UK manufacturing and British made products.
We’re proud of our traditional values and skills and our innovative and forward-thinking approach to our work. Our team of industry-trained engineers, technicians and specialist finishers are experts in their field with almost 100 years of collective experience having worked with the fleece of 50 of the 60-plus breeds of sheep (including rare and specialised varieties) that exist in the UK today.
We actively promote the benefits of working with and wearing British wool and support the farms where we source our fibre from during the farm to fashion process.
